An awesome day with Sonia.
Sometimes, the best weekends with friends are the ones where you don't have to make any big plans - you can both just hang out and do whatever sounds fun at the time. It's been so super nice to just have time with Sonia all to myself - we realized this weekend that this is probably the second time that we've just hung out one-on-one for an extended period of time. Not anymore, though - Amber & Sonia time is now a mandatory thing, in my book. And I'm making it mandatory in Sonia's, too (even if she doesn't want it to be).
The safety and smarts of a good friend.
Yesterday morning I woke up to an email from a dear friend of mine that kind of broke my heart. There were some tough decisions that had to be made on his end, but I'm so, so proud of him for doing the thing that will protect both his mental and physical well-being. I've been marveling at his inner-strength all day. I know that it all feels devastating and tough and slightly unbearable right now, but I have no doubt that he's going to come out of this winning. And until then, he's got a righteous crew of friends and brave companions who are ready to step up and do what needs to be done to help him down that tough road.
The last Twilight movie.
I started writing something for this here, but then it got so long and detailed that I'm just going to write a full-blown post about it. So,I'll just say - I'm grateful for the ridiculous and fun journey that has been Twilight. Whether we've loved it or hated it - or have done both at alternating times - it has definitely been fun.
